Walks

Carsaig Waterfall Walk

Carsaig Waterfall Walk

Our most popular walk. A lovely circular walk along the cliff tops and Beinn Charsaig. Some of the best views on the Island with a good chance of wildlife views including Eagles, Hen Harrier, Red Deer and we've even seen Dolphins from the cliff tops. As well as this we follow a route that gives amazing close up views of the many waterfalls and in warm weather there's an ideal loch and pools to experience wild swimming. Can you beat the record of 10 dips on this walk?

Salen Coast to Coast

Shaiba and the 3 beaches

A lovely walk to a ruined township. We can explore this well preserved glimpse into the past before returning via 3 stunning beaches with a chance to swim if the weather is kind.

Carsaig Arches

Carsaig Arches

A coastal walk to the amazing Carsaig Arches. It can be rough and rocky underfoot with a narrow exposed path to view the second arch. Not for the feint hearted. This walk takes 6+ hours.

Eagle Walk

Eagle Walk

A cliff top walk with beautiful views of the Paps of Jura and the Ross of Mull. We often see Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Hen Harriers, and Red Deer. This walk can be as short or long as required.

Ben More

Ben More

The only Munro on the island, this is a straightforward walk on boggy broken terrain. Route finding can be difficult if the weather closes in and care must be taken crossing the scree near the top.

Ben More Scramble

Ben More Scramble

This is an excellent scramble, first we climb Ben More's sister peak A'Chioch, then via a sharp edge we summit Ben More. A head for heights is definitely needed as well as a reasonable fitness level.

Ben More Circular Route

Ben More Circular Route

This walk goes up the traditional way but splits off west on the way back to make this a full day out in the hills. There are fantastic views down Loch Scridain on the return.

Beinn Talaidh

Beinn Talaidh

This mountain sits at the heart of Mull's peaks and gives breathtaking views in all directions. There is wreckage of a WWII aircraft still on the mountain. This is a full day out and a reasonable level of fitness is needed.

The Guide

The guide

My name is Tony McLean and I started my guiding business "Walk Mull" and photography business "Photo Mull" in 2011 when I moved to the Isle of Mull from London. I made the decision to move away from a successful photographic business to start a new career based around my passion for adventure and love of the outdoors. It's been an amazing journey and I love every minute of it. Whether leading people up their first Munro, teaching navigation skills, wild camping adventures or just showing the hidden treasures you don't find in the tourist books, I feel extremely lucky to be able to share my passion with others.

I am a member of the Mountain Training Association and proud holder of the Mountain Leader Certificate.

I am also a holder the ITC outdoors first aid certificate and hold guiding insurance.
